Rodeo Parade

Today was the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Parade. The Livestock and Rodeo kicks off on Tuesday and it is a HUGE deal down here. People eat, breath and sleep the Rodeo for the entire month of March. They have some big name bands/artists coming to town. We are hoping to make it down at some point to see all the things it has to offer.

The parade started at 10:00 am and when we left at 11:20(beacuse we were all hungry) it was not yet finished. It was a nice parade but they didn't throw out candy for the kids and Olivia was not happy about that. There were more horses there than I think I have ever seen in my entire life. I don't have a lot of video because seriously, 90% of the parade was various people riding on horses and how many horses can you see before they all start to look the same?

This video is kinda grainy, but it is Clay Walker(the Grand Marshall)

She will ready to ride in the parade next year.

Olivia's Birthday

I cannot believe Olivia is turning four today. Where has time gone? Olivia had a good birthday I think. Even though I know was disappionted that she wasn't able to have the kind of birthday party she has become used to as she told Daniel and I last night that her birthday wasn't as it was supposed to be because she wasn't having friends and family over. That broke our hearts but it is what it is. Next year will be different. We started the day off by having donuts for breakfast as that was Olivia's choice. Then Daniel had to go the DMV to get his new drivers license and we naively thought it would be a relatively quick trip-WRONG. Four hours later he finally got done, so we met him at Chuck E. Cheese's for lunch and some game playing. Olivia enjoyed that. We were hoping to be able to take her to the zoo but there was not enough time. After lunch we came home, she opened her presents and took a small nap. She requested McDonald's for dinner so we went there and she was able to play some more. We ended the night with some yummy birthday cake.

Thanks to everyone for the awesome gifts, she loved them all!!

Nothing New

With the end of February fast approaching there is really no news to report, although we have all our cross ables crossed that an offer will be coming on our house soon, very soon. Olivia's birthday is Wednesday. We are in the process of getting our cars licensed in Texas. It is a total racket, you have to get inspection at one place, registered at another and your driver's license at the DMV(which is not open on Saturdays). So as I write this Daniel has already gotten his car inspected and has mine at the inspection facility getting it inspected. Along with having to drive all over to make sure all the i's are dotted and t's crossed, it is expensive. Just another unwelcomed surprise that this great state has bestowed upon us. Oh well, that is life I suppose.

Like I said above, hopefully super soon we will be able to report that we have sold our house and look for another post coming on Olivia's birthday!!

BBQ Feast

This past Saturday we went to a BBQ Feast. The Feast itself was nothing to really write home about, we saw a lot of fancy BBQ trailers, has some good BBQ and drank a few beers. But out in front they had a kids area. Olivia had a blast riding the mini ponies, petting all the animals in the petting zoo and sliding down the giant slide.
