The next great cyclist

So for Christmas Olivia asked Santa for a bicycle. And even though she told me Santa brought her the wrong bike :-), I think she has forgiven him and has been practicing riding in the basement.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The snow that fell today was beautiful. Very glad to have a white Christmas since we won't be seeing any of the white stuff for the foreseeable future. So while dinner was in the oven, we decided to go out and play.

this was Cameron's reaction to the snow.

Olivia was a bit more excited!!

The next Betty Crocker

WIth the weather being so cold and windy lately I haven't been much on getting the girls out. So I decided that Olivia and I would make some cut-out sugar cookies to help pass the time. After borrowing cookie cutters from my sister and a rolling pin from my mom(can you tell I don't bake much) we were set. I made the dough up last night so we could get right down to the nitty gritty today. I knew this project wasn't going to a work of beauty but definitely something fun to do with Olivia. I think Olivia had fun making cookies and I can see us making them again soon.

waiting to go into the oven.

Olivia with flour all over her pants.

Olivia working her decorating magic.

a few sprinkles for the cookie, a few sprinkles for the counter

Olivia kept getting the sprinkles bottle into the icing and she thought it was funny to lick it off.

finished product

not shabby for a first attempt

This has nothing to really do with cookie making but Cameron thinks it is hilarious to sit on the diswahser as I am trying to load it.

Happy Birthday!!!!

Happy Birthday Cameron!!!!! One year ago today, we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new baby girl. She entered the world and forever changed our lives at 7:16 p.m. It is hard to remember what live was like before she came along and I wouldn't change that for the world. Wow, where has the last year gone? It is so hard for me to believe that my little 6lbs. 5 oz. peanut is a already a year old.

Uh Oh......

So Cameron has been taking a few steps here and there for a while now. Nothing to really speak of. But today she decided that walking was the cool thing to do and has been doing so ever since. Now, don't get me wrong, she will still crawl and prefers crawling some of the time but it won't be long until she is walking full time.

the first video is from November 18-

the next two videos were taken today, a lot has changed in a week.

Thankful....

Wow, is it really Thanksgiving already? As Thanksgiving gives way to Black Friday and everything Christmas, I wanted to take a minute to give thanks for all the wonderful blessings in my life that I often either forget or that get overshadowed by everyday life. I need to start taking a few minutes everyday to reflect on the wonderful things in my life and stop getting so bogged down by all the things I cannot change. So with that said, here are just a few of the things I am so very thankful in my life...

  • my wonderful, caring, patient, understanding, level headed, handsome and every so logical husband.
  • a husband who works so hard at his job as to make my life a little easier.
  • the two most extraordinary, beautiful, smartest and funniest girls in the whole world who make me a better person.
  • my amazing family.
  • better friends than I deserve.
  • a warm house to keep me and my family safe.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

A Visit to the Butterfly House

My sister had today off so we decided to take all 4 girls to the Butterfly House in Chesterfield. I knew Olivia would love seeing all the butterflies as she has been asking to go see butterflies for a while. She was pretty funny when we went into the "room" with all the free flying butterflies as she didn't know that the butterflies were free to roam about and that freked her out a bit but all in all she really enjoyed it. After we were done inside the Butterfly House we took them over to the giant carosel and let Olivia and Kate ride. It was a great day and we really enjoyed spending time with Olivia's Meme, Tater Fry and Abby Cadaby.

A beautiful fall day...

Daniel having Thursday off and the beautiful weather, we deicided to rake leaves so Olivia could jump and play in them. So while Cameron was down for a nap Daniel and I raked up most of the leaves in the front yard so Olivia could have a little fun. After about 2 hours of raking and jumping, the leaves were so small you could hardly tell we even had a pile big enough to play in.

These are just a few of the vidoes that I took...

Cameron's 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated Cameron's 1st Birthday(a little early). We had a full house of family and friends and it was a great time. It was a little bittersweet as this will be the first and last birthday that Cameron will celebrate in our current house.  She had a great time, got lots of very cool presents and we made some lasting memories!!

New to this all...

After much thought and some gentle nudging I have decided to start a blog. Stay tuned for all the exciting adventures that our family will experience as Daniel prepares to move to Houston while Cameron, Olivia and I stay here for the time being.

Enjoy!!
